You don’t just do sports because it’s fun and good for you, but probably also because you have certain goals that you want to achieve. For example, one person wants to lose a few kilos, while the other wants to increase his or her muscle mass. Depending on what you want to achieve with the sports efforts, there are certain times in the day when you can achieve your goal more effectively. This will be briefly explained below.
To lose weight
If your goal is to lose weight, it is best to do your sports efforts in the morning. It has been shown that the body is better able to release fats in the morning and burn them. Please note that in the morning your body still has to ‘start up’, so that you have less strength and more chance of injuries if you do not warm up your muscles properly. A warm-up is therefore an absolute must! In addition, it is important to have enough fluid in the body. So be sure to drink a good glass of water before you start your morning workout. An additional advantage of exercising in the morning is that you immediately start your day well and energetic, and you can immediately be proud of yourself!
Increase muscle mass
When you exercise with the aim of gaining more muscle mass, the best time is the afternoon, between 14:00 and 18:00. It turns out that around that time the body has the most energy and most hormones are released that contribute to the desired muscle building. An additional advantage of exercising in the evening is that it can improve the quality of your sleep. This in turn has very positive effects on the development of growth hormone, which among other things ensures muscle building and fat breakdown.
