Today, CBD is a well-known compound that has successfully made its way into the supplement industry in recent years. One of the easiest and most efficient ways to use CBD is through sublingual administration. This is a difficult term for simply administering a few drops of CBD oil under the tongue. However, it can be difficult to dose, especially if you start with CBD supplementation. There is no universal dosage, because it differs per person, taking into account age, weight, health condition, etc. However, with the following tips, finding your perfect dosage is no longer a problem.
Take the build-up period into account
It is important to know that CBD has a build-up period. It can take up to two weeks for the build-up of CBD in your body to finish. So if you still don’t notice any effects after a week, you may need to be a little more patient and let the CBD build up completely. During this first period it is advisable to start with a lower dose/percentage. We also recommend starting with one drop in the morning and one drop in the evening. If you still don’t notice anything after these two weeks, you can consider increasing the dose. More on this later.
Pay attention to the CBD percentage
There are many different brands of CBD oils on the market today. These also contain very different percentages of CBD, ranging from 2.5% to very strong of 30%. People who are just starting to supplement with CBD almost always start with an oil that contains 5% or 10% CBD during the build-up period. With these lower doses, it is possible to build up very gradually and easily, so that everyone eventually arrives at the ideal dose.
Build up (and down) slowly
Once the build-up period has ended, you can look for the perfect dose for you. Do this by slowly building up until you achieve the desired result. If you do not notice anything after the build-up period, it is best to insert an extra intake moment in the afternoon. If you still don’t notice a difference after a few days, feel free to increase the dose further, for example to 2-3 drops three times a day. To be able to assess whether this increase has an effect, you should take this dose for a few days before adjusting the dose again. If you keep experimenting in this way, you will automatically arrive at the best dose for you.
Listen to your body
To arrive at the right dose of CBD, it is very important to listen carefully to your body and the signals it gives you. Listening to your body may be easier said than done, as many signals are so light that we ignore them or attribute them to other causes. To gain more insight into this, a notebook in which you keep track of how you feel can be a good tool. Consider whether CBD could be the cause of the things you feel. If you do this consistently, you will see certain developments after some time. In any case, it is better to use too little rather than too much CBD. CBD is quite expensive, so it is a shame for your wallet to drip (too) much. In addition, it is possible that you will benefit less from the product in the event of an overdose.
